A roar came up from the crowd, echoing down the streets and into the courtyard where we waited. As a gust of wind blows past I feel even colder then I already am to my utter disbelief. They were coming, that much we knew. Now that the walls have fallen and we are left defenseless they will come. I feel a hand rest on my shoulder drawing me out of my thoughts. Looking behind me she’s there with her bright smile and soft eyes. Releasing a sigh I unleash my fears upon my companion, “Do you think we have a chance? Will we be able to hold them back?” I turn to her looking for some type of sign pleading with my eyes for an answer

The clock strikes twelve. The sounds ringing through the entire house disturbing the silence, and finalizing the end of the year, and finally the day has passed. Alone a little girl sat while outside, tons of people celebrated and drank the night away.
